The film is about a 16 year old adolescent boy Ramu(Vineeth) who is staying with his annoying uncle(Thilakan) who is always harsh with Ramu and treats him like a slave. During a pilgrimage Ramu meets Gauri(Monisha), who was accompanying an old woman. They both find likeness and after sharing a few talks and moments , they both depart without a clue whether they would meet again and where. Later, Ramu runs away from his uncle and lands up in the city with his neighbor. Like a coincidence Ramu meets Gauri again there. The Good conduct and intelligence of Ramu gets noticed and he is then asked to stay in a lawyer's house where Gauri was working as a maid. The lawyer who was very impressed with Ramu allows him to study at his expense. The deaf and dumb daughter of the lawyer(Saleena) gets attracted to Ramu and after realizing this the lawyer decides to let Ramu marry her daughter without Ramu's knowledge. He is put into a very awkward situation as he couldn't leave the one he loves the most, Gauri and at same time he couldn't disobey the decision of the lawyer who has been helping him for a good future. The triangle love story finally ends in a sad way as Ramu commits suicide.
